My Credentials

~ I completed my medical training at Stanford University Medical School and Hospital.



~ I am double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine (both from the American Board of Anesthesiology).



~ For nine years, I served as the director of the Kaiser San Jose Pain Management Unit (San Jose, CA).



~ I trained with Dr. Mark Renneker, the nationally-known clinical advocate, for 11 months. We continue to consult with each other regularly.



~ I have over 10 years of experience in clinical advocacy.



~ I coauthored the chapter on clinical advocacy (chapter 19) in the textbook, Patient Advocacy for Healthcare Quality: Strategies for Achieving Patient Centered Care (2007). Click here for textbook info.



~ I am a member of the American Society of Breast Disease, the Society of Integrative Oncology, the American Society for Clinical Oncology and the American Pain Society
